Beverly A. Platt, 67, Coal Valley, died Monday, June 10, 2013 at her home. Funeral services are 10 AM Friday at Victory Baptist Church, East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. A memorial fund has been established. Beverly Lucas was born on January 21, 1946, the daughter of Thomas and Henrietta (Shepherd) Lucas. She graduated from Al-Wood High School and received her C.N.A from Black Hawk College, Moline. She had worked at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Rock Island for 26 years. She married Mark Platt on December 10, 1963 at the family home in Green Rock, IL. Beverly loved to read and enjoyed the new e-books. She loved her morning coffee, camping listening to country music. Her greatest joy was her family. Survivors include her husband Mark, children (spouses), Randy Platt, Wappelo, IA, Anita (James) Frederick, Sheridan, IL Anna (Ron) Martin, Kewanee, IL, David (Julie) Platt, Galva, IL, Daniel Platt, Davenport, grandchildren, Justin and Rick Frederick, Drake , Jake and Jesse Martin, Ryann and Savannah Platt, one sister, Marlene Wellnitz, Moline and a brother, William Lucas, Carbon Cliff. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Steven, daughter Annette, brothers, Robert and Thomas and granddaughter Amber Sutton.
