Billy G. Harvey, 84, Silvis, died Friday, November 25, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. Funeral services are 1:30 PM Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Visitation is 4-7PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Bill was born November 27, 1926 in Shelby County, MO, the son of Charles Albert and Mahala Leona (Tungate) Harvey. He married T. Rosalie Baum on June 26, 1949 in Moline. He retired in 1985 from Grounds Maintenance of Deere and Co. Bill was a handy man who could fix anything. He loved doing yard work and was known for leaving no weed un-pulled. After retirement, he and his wife were members of the Methodist NOMADS, a group who travels throughout the United States spreading God's good word through work projects. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Rosalie, his children (spouses), Donna J. (Charles) Fox, East Moline, James M. (Debbie) Harvey, Odessa, MO and Randy S. (Robin) Harvey, Cedar Park, TX, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brothers, Lestel Harvey, Shelbyville, MO, Richard Harvey, Bethel, MO, Donald Harvey, Independence, MO, a sister Louise (John) Daugherty, Bethel and a sister-in-law Mary Harvey, Palmyra, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
