Memorial services for Billy Patrick Moyers, 69, of Preemption, IL, will be 11:00 am Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline., IL. Entombment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Moyers died Saturday, April 30, 2016, at UnityPoint, Rock Island, IL. Billy was born October 19, 1946, in Hannibal, MO, the son of Charles F. and Golda Mae Welch Moyers. He served in the U.S Marine Corp, and was a proud veteran. He married Alice Carrera June 27, 1969, in Yuma, AZ. He retired from the Case/New Holland Plant, East Moline, in 2004, after nearly 30 years of service. Billy was just a country boy from Missouri and a friend to all. He was a sportsman. He liked hunting fishing, and listening to country music, especially Max Wiseman. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a member of the East End Bolders Club, Moline, where he enjoyed playing rolle bolle. He was a devoted husband and dedicated father who loved his family. He was always ready for the next family outing. Survivors include his wife, Alice Moyers, Preemption; sons, Joseph Moyers (Michelle Owens), Davenport, IA, Leo Moyers (Jessica Gray), Ormond Beach, FL, and Billy Moyers, II, Preemption; grandson, Corbin Andrew Moyers, Ormond Beach; siblings, Bob (Betty) Moyers, Hannibal, Patricia Peters, Hannibal. Claudette (Charles) Gilmore, Hannibal, Bonnie (Kenny) Williams, Hannibal, Gloria (Larry) Hendren, New London, MO, and Dan (Nancy) Moyers, Gulf Port, MS; sister-in-law, Gay Moyers, Gulf Port; brother-in-law, John Earnest, Hannibal. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bernadine Earnest and Neva Ball; brother, Leo Moyers. Memorials may be made to the family.
