Graveside services for Bobby Jean Stang, 79, of Silvis, IL, will be 1:00 PM Friday at the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service should be at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, by 12:30 PM Friday. Mr. Stang died November 22, 2006 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Mr. Stang was born December 2, 1926 in Moline, IL, the son of Eugene and Mabelle (Wildermuth) Stang. He had served in the US Navy and Air Force during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He had worked as a pipe fitter, heating and air-conditioning repairman, and later in his life a bookkeeper. Most people would remember him for selling picnic tables in his front lawn on Kennedy Drive, East Moline. Survivors include; sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin Stang of Silvis, IL; Craig and Lisa Stang of Silvis; grandchildren, Nicholas, Meagan, Samantha, Nichole, Bobby Jean, and Michael Jean; 3 great grandchildren.
