Bonnie S. Skaggs, 74, East Moline, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016 at her home. Funeral services are 10 AM Saturday at Gospel Assembly Church, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gospel Assembly Church, where she was a member. Bonnie Barton was born August 11, 1941 in Metropolis, IL, the daughter of Clyde and Stella Isabelle (Baker) Barton. She married Billy Gene Johnson in 1961 and together they had 2 daughters. He died in 1979. She married Terry Skaggs on October 3, 1987. Bonnie was passionate about genealogy and had compiled many books on the matter. She had a green thumb which was evident by her beautiful flower gardens. Survivors include her husband, Terry, loving daughter Jacqueline J. Smith, East Moline, granddaughters, Maeggan Jo, and Kimberly Michelle, great grandsons, Kamron, Tre and A.J., stepsons, Terry (Colleen)Skaggs, Jr and Tracy (Kristine) Skaggs, both of Rock Island, brother-in-law Jack Thompson, special niece, Debra Hicks and great niece and nephew, Charity Grace and Timothy Driver. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving daughter Julie Anne Johnson and sister Phyllis Thompson.
