Boyd C. Fisher, 71, Hampton, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Funeral services are 10 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation is 4-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice. Boyd was born March 6, 1947 in Greeley, NE, the son of George and Bertha (Leigh) Fisher. He married Pamela (Redman) Hurley on February 14, 1998 in East Moline. Boyd retired as a truck driver from Atlas Intermodule. He was a well decorated US Army veteran from the Vietnam War. Boyd was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan and truly enjoyed time with his family, especially family cook outs. Survivors include his wife Pam, children, Tina Fisher, Aledo, Shane (Lisa) Fisher, Long Grove, IA, and Melissa (Quentin) Swan, Vinton, VA, step children, Darrin Hurley, East Moline and Jenny (Bruce) Erwin, Geneseo, grandchildren; Kaeleigh Swan, Braleigh Swan, Morgan Bender, Tessa Erwin, Tyson Bates and Matthew Sandoval. The family would like to thank Brianna and Casey for the excellent home care and everyone at Clarissa Cook for the care shown to Boyd and their entire family. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and a sister.
