Breck L. Bartels, 68, of East Moline, passed away Tuesday July 16, 2024 at his home.

The family celebrated him with a small private ceremony.

Breck was born on May 17, 1956 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Leo and Beverly (Bailey) Bartels.

He had been employed as a railroad mechanic with Rock Island Lines and later with other railroads, until his retirement.

In his free time, he was a outstanding drummer, enjoyed Ham Radio and fishing. Breck also enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his siblings, Michael (Carol Ann) Bartels, Milan, Carol Bartels, Pittsburg, Kansas, Rhonda Attwood, Moline, Kimberly (Charles) Hansen, Covington, Tennessee, Todd (Wendy) Bartels, Davenport, Iowa, Linda (Chuck) Smith, Huntsville, Alabama; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo L. and Beverly Bartels.
