Memorial services for Rev. Brian Fischer, 67, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Saturday at First Baptist Church, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Rev. Fischer died Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, IL, after a long battle with diabetes. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family. Brian was born November 25, 1946, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Milton and Jean Meade Fischer. He married Peggy Voss March 29, 1969 in Brookfield, WI. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. Brian had worked as a lithographer before he was called to the ministry. He received his Masters of Divinity from Northern Seminary, Chicago, IL. He served as Pastor at First Baptist Church, East Moline, for several years. Currently, he served as Pastor at Harmony Hills Church, Bettendorf, IA. He had been very active in his church community and Churches United of the Quad Cities. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Fischer, Moline; sister, Dianna Bromghim, NC; niece, Kori (Chad) Welch; great nieces, Brook and Kyleigh.
