MOLINE - Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Brian Jon Palos, 60, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 800 17 th St., Silvis. Services will also be live-streamed at http://www.facebook.com/vanhoefuneralhome. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. His family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, 1500 6 th St., East Moline. Despite being fully vaccinated and boosted, Brian passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 at Genesis East Hospital, Davenport, due to complications from COVID.
The family requests that donations be made in Brian's memory to support Solid Organ Transplantation at Northwestern Medicine (giving.nm.org/brianpalos). Memorials may also be made to the family.
Brian was born Feb. 24, 1961, in Moline, the son of Paul and Petra (Castel) Palos. He graduated from Moline High School in 1979. Brian was united in marriage to Rebecca Aguilar, and later divorced. For the last several years, he enjoyed life with his partner, Wendy Houff.
For those of you who knew Brian, he enjoyed life to the fullest, and at times, pushed it to the limit. During his childhood years he was an outstanding baseball player as a member of the Moline Dad's Club. He also enjoyed basketball, golf, shooting piks, playing pool, and he especially loved attending concerts.
Brian currently owned and operated Palos Painting. He took great pride in his work and made many lasting friendships among his clients. He was a man of his word, reliable, and a true jack-of-all-trades.
Brian is survived by his children and their spouses, Timothy (Lindsay), Moline, IL, Kenneth (Maria), Rock Island, IL; grandchildren, Antonio, Marc (Jacqueline), Makaila, Isaiah, Santino, Seleni, and his first great grandchild on the way; Stepmother Marylu Cruz-Palos; Siblings, Paul (Sue Haas) Palos, Davenport, IA, Loretta (Mike) Miers, Prosper, TX, Vanessa (Tom) Biasi, Silvis, IL, Bruce Palos, Moline, IL, Michelle (Juan) Vargas, Moline, IL; Stepsister, Gabriela (Diego) Rivera, Coralville, IA, Godmother, Sarah Campos, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth, niece Anastasia Nache, paternal grandparents Juan and Virginia (Morales) Palos, and maternal grandparents Jesus and Sara (Valdez) Castel.
The family would like to thank the staff of Genesis East and Chicago Northwestern Memorial Hospital for the care that they provided Brian in his final days.
