Funeral services for C. Muriel McCreight, 97, Silvis, are 1PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 5-7PM Wednesday (today) at the funeral home. Memorials may be made Christ United Methodist Church where she was a devoted member or to the United Education Foundation. Muriel died Monday, August 25, 2008 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Clara Muriel Hanson was born November 29, 1910 in Brooklyn, IA, the daughter of Frank and Lois (Dutro) Hanson. She married Claire L. "Mac" McCreight on June 20, 1937 in East Moline. Claire died March 9, 1979. Muriel had worked as a bookkeeper at Farlow Electric in East Moline for 18 years, retiring in 1970. Mrs. McCreight was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Glory Circle, Kings Daughters, Order of the Eastern Star 779 since 1929, the Woman's Club of East Moline, the American Home Department, the Hampton-Moline unit of Homemakers, In His Name Service League, Blackhawk Retired Teachers and was active in Girl Scouts for over 40 years. Survivors include her daughter Lois Wehner of Rock Island a son Robert of Austin, TX and grandsons and their spouses David and Jenn Pash of Naples, FL and Stephen and Melissa Pash of Orlando, FL.
