Calvin C. Freeland, 89, Winter Haven, FL, passed away on July 4, 2016 at Good Shepherd Hospice, Auburndale, FL. Graveside services are 11:30 AM Thursday at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation is from 10 AM until 11 AM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. Cal was born on June 5, 1927 in Charleston, IL, the son of Clay and Gladys Freeland. He served in the Navy during WWII. Cal worked as an Electrician for Art-O-lite and was a long time member of the IBEW. He had been a Watkins dealer for 30 years. Cal loved the game of golf and never met a stranger. He married Delores ôToodyé¶ Hoskins on November 17, 2012. Survivors include his wife Toody, daughters; Nancy Wilson, Alexander, Ark, and Beth (Ron) Carlson, Davenport, grandchildren; Theresa, Danielle, Ben Michael, Mackenzie and Trent, 5 great grandchildren and many bonus children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his brother Carl (Iris) Freeland, Peoria, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Dan Wilson and his late wife Marvel Freeland. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.vanhoe.com
