Candace C. "Candy" Egbert, 77, of East Moline, IL, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, at her home.

Memorial visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, followed by a graveside memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Candace was born June 8, 1945, in Moline, Illinois, a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Risse Walker. She married Melvin L. Egbert on September 6, 1973 in Silvis, IL. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2014.

She had worked in the Tire Center at Walmart until her retirement in 2009.

Surviving are her children, Johnna (Clarence) Owen, Rapid City, IL, Glenn "Pete" (Nancy) Holder, East Moline, IL, Barbara (John) Lechmaier, Milan, IL, Buffie (Charles) Wilcox, Leonardtown, MD, and Linda (Rodney) Gaither, Davenport, IA; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sister, Chery Godsey, of Low Moor, IA; and many step-siblings, nieces and nephews and other family.

Candace was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; two children, Robert Egbert and Lorne Holder; mother, Elizabeth; stepfather, Charles; and siblings, Honey "Beckie" Frederick, John Frederick and Janine Frederick.
