Funeral services for Carl V. Ainslie, 82, of East Moline, IL, will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00AM prior to services at the funeral home. Private committal services will be held at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline, IL at a later date. Mr. Ainslie died Sunday, January 04, 2009 at his home. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Carl was born April 24, 1926 in Webster City, IA, the son of Carl V. and Thersa (Thompson) Ainslie. He married Lois Mae Bang December 11, 1946 in Webster City. She died November 25, 2007. He had been Managing Partner of Payless Cashway, Silvis, IL, for 25 years, retiring in 1969. Later, Carl and Lois owned and operated Coast to Coast Total Hardware, Bettendorf, IA. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Survivors include: children, Ray (Sandra) Ainslie, Sue Ulloa, Gwen (Pete) Vershaw, Mark (Pam) Ainslie, Marcia Ainslie and Don Anthony, Barbara (Bruce) Brown, and Jennifer Schnerre; 13 grandchildren, Dan (Penny) Ainslie, Denton (Nadine) Ainslie, Steve Ulloa, Carolyn Ulloa, Rick Ulloa, Rebecca (Quin) DeMay, Kristine (Eric) Chaplin, Nicholas Anthony, Jenna Brown, Kayla Schnerre, Ali Schnerre, Tamara (Brian) Daker, and Blake (Kim) Winters; great-grandchildren, Felicia and Tiffany Ainslie, Zach, Joseph, Sam, Chloe, Adam & Luke Ulloa, Peter DeMay, Lily, Chet & Brian Daker, Xavier and Guenevere Winters; sister, Margret Fielding; special care giver, Emily Caven. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a grandson, Marc Anthony. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.vanhoe.com.
