Carla S. Goderis, 66, East Moline passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Unity Point Trinity, Rock Island. Carla Murdock was born on June 29, 1950 and married Raymond Goderis on September 21, 1968 in East Moline (having met him for the first time in the 3rd grade – they were inseparable). She was a compassionate, loving person who could also be head-strong, stubborn at times yes, and still always put others ahead of herself no matter the situation. She would do anything for anyone and lived her life more for the purpose of others than herself. She was an animal lover extraordinaire, an avid reader, outstanding cook, baker, cake decorator, beloved aficionado of Dr. Pepper, and a supporter of many charities and associations including but not limited to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Paralyzed Veterans of America, the American Cancer Society, etc. Survivors include her husband Ray, children Josh Goderis (Jon Battistelli), Chicago and Heather Goderis, Moline and sisters Debbie Jones, Rock Island and Kelly Murdock, East Moline. Being head-strong and a true altruist to the end, she requested there be no visitation or services and we are humbly honoring her request. The family will hold a celebration of her life (she actually said over the years to have a big party), for close friends and family, at a later date.
