Carlene R. Sullivan, 89, East Moline, went to Heaven to join her husband, after a long battle with Alzheimer's on April 29, 2012. Funeral services are 11 AM Saturday at First Christian Church, East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund. Carlene was born October 18, 1922 in Stillwell, IL, the daughter of Martin D. and Bernice F. (Tanner) Reed. She graduated from Bowen High School, Bowen, IL. She married James F. Sullivan at First Christian Church on April 7, 1946. Carlene had worked at John Deere during WWII but enjoyed being a homemaker after the birth of her four children. She was a member of the CWF at First Christian Church and a member of TOPS and KOPS. She truly enjoyed her family. She was a great cook, fantastic seamstress, and a wonderful Mother to her four children. She is survived by her children, James M (Debbie) Sullivan, Davenport, Patricia J. (Gary) Gurnicz, Springfield, VA, Judith L. (Stephen) Petersen, Davenport and Penni (Dan) Allen, East Moline, sister Maxine (Gailen) Brown, Cherry Valley, CA., eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren with one due on May 28th, 2 nephews, and a niece. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 6, 1997 and a grandson Derek M. Sullivan on June 13, 1999
