Funeral services for Carlos E. DeLaCruz, 36, East Moline, are 10 AM Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM. A memorial fund has been established. Carlos died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at his home. Carlos was born November 7, 1971 in Leon, GTO, Mexico, the son of Carlos and Maria Silvina Juarez DeLaCruz. Carlos had been employed for the past 14 years as a packager at Servalite, East Moline. He was a talented cartoon artist; he was a movie buff and had been a fan of Superman since he was a young boy. Carlos enjoyed traveling to Sci-fi Conventions all over the country. He was a devoted and loving son to his mother and a caring big brother to his sister. Survivors include his mother Maria Silvina, East Moline, his sister Silvia Arce, East Moline, half sister Maria Lira, Fort Worth, TX, half brothers Lupe Cruz, Silvis, Jesse Cruz, East Moline, John DeLaCruz, Moline, Charlie Cruz, Silvis and many aunts uncles and cousins in Mexico and nieces and nephews locally. Carlos is preceded in death by his father Carlos, Grandfather Catarino Juarez, his grandmother Cleofas Gomez, great aunt Clara Knox, aunt Hilaria Juarez and half brother Manuel DeLaCruz.
