Funeral services for Carol A. Williams, 72, of Hampton, IL, will be 10:00AM Tuesday at Hampton United Methodist Church, Hampton, IL. Burial will be in Hampton Cemetery, Hampton. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mrs. Williams died Friday, August 12, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to Hampton United Methodist Church. Carol was born December 25, 1938 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Opal Ferman Johnson. She married William "Bill" Williams May 19, 1962 in Hampton. She had worked as a day care provider from her home, where over the years, she had watched over 65 children. She was a Die Hard Chicago Cubs Fan and a Chicago Bears Fan. She loved the outdoors, where she would feed the birds and wildlife. She enjoyed reading, especially the Bible. She had been an active member at Hampton United Methodist Church, where she had taught Sunday School and a member of the Hampton Historical Society. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Bill Williams of Hampton; son, Scott (Denise) Williams of East Moline; grandchildren, Andrea Gonzalez and Crystal (Mike) Vanderpool; great-grandchildren; Alycia Savala and Caden Vanderpool; sister, Phyllis (Ken) Trommer of East Moline; brother, Dale Johnson (Dianna Toney) of East Moline; sister-in-law, Rose Johnson of Moline; brother-in-law, Kenny Wheeler of Hampton; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son, William Williams Jr., sister, Barbara Wheeler, brothers, Richard, Larry and Donald Johnson.
