Carolyn Elizabeth Person, 90, of Colona, IL, died Monday, June 27, 2022 at her home. Funeral services will take place at 10am, Friday, July 1, 2022 at Van Hoe Funeral Home, LTD. A visitation will take place prior at 5:00-7:00PM, Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made out to the family.

Carolyn was born in Barry, IL, September 16, 1931, the youngest child of Oscar and Allie May (Foster) Bridgewater. She married Charles E. Person October 28, 1951 in Kinderhook, IL. He preceded her in death in 2017. She was employed as a telephone operator, and later became a bookkeeper at a local bank in Hannibal, MO. She then went on to be a homemaker and a mom. As the children grew older, she worked in the cafeteria at the Colona Grade School, retiring in 1994. Carolyn was also an active member of the First Baptist Church, Colona, IL.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Tamara Person, Colona, IL, Zane (Yvonne) Person, Geneseo, IL, Daryl Person, Colona, IL, Shawn Person, Colona, IL, Barry (Julie) Person, South Berwick, ME, Kyle Person; grandchildren, Tyler (Lauren) Person, Callie (Fred) Kindelsperger, Haley Person, Baylor and Madison Person; and three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents, and her siblings, Mildred Schuhart, Hazel Kellum, John David Bridgewater, and Robert Bridgewater.
