Funeral services for Carolyn M. Versluis, 68, Silvis, are 11 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7PM Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Carolyn died Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. Carolyn Betcher was born September 5, 1940 in Moline, the daughter of Kenneth and Arlene (Sipes) Betcher. She married Maurice Versluis on March 27, 1958 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Colona. Carolyn was a career homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch and working crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Maurice, children and spouses; Kevin and Kathleen Versluis of Geneseo, Ken and Cindy Versluis of Silvis, Karen and Rev. Gary Wright of East Moline and Korey Versluis of Silvis, five grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a brother Richard Betcher of Geneseo.
