Funeral services for Carolyn Marie Wilder, 78, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm. Carolyn died Monday, January 23, 2017, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born March 5, 1938, to Armand and Clara (Hermans) Eechaute. She married Lewis Wilder on August 30, 1958, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. He preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Alleman High School, Rock Island. She worked at East Moline State Bank and later was a bookkeeper for her husband at White Electric Co. in Moline. Her true passion and love in life was her family. She devoted many years to not only caring for her children and grandchildren, but the children in her neighborhood as well whom she thought of as her own. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, where she volunteered making hot lunches for the school and chairing the parish's spaghetti dinner fundraiser. Surviving are her children, Michael (Anne) Wilder of Arlington Heights, IL, Mark Wilder of Huntley, IL, Lisa (Scot) Rains of East Moline, and Lori (Toby) Walsh of Spring Valley, IL; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson all whom she dearly loved; one sister, Kathy (Jim) Miller of East Moline; one sister-in-law Donna Eechaute of Geneseo; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three grandchildren, Kristina and Joseph Ornelis and Nathaniel Wilder; and one brother James Eechaute. In lieu of flowers and gifts, Memorials may be made to Compassionate Friend Angel of Hope Memorial or the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
