Catherine Atkins, 91, East Moline, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at New Perspective, Silvis. Funeral services are 11 AM Friday at Christ Church, 1301 2nd Ave., Silvis. Visitation is from 10 AM until service time. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Silvis Food Pantry.

Catherine Bjorkman was born January 30, 1928 in Moline, the daughter of William and Helen (Shuck) Bjorkman. She married Robert Atkins on May 27, 1950 in Moline. He died December 21, 2018. Catherine worked for the former Illinois Bell Telephone, JC Penney and did in home day-care. She enjoyed quilting, needle work, cross-stitch and playing cards. She loved being with her family and was a devoted member of her church.

Survivors include her children; Candy (Bob) Thomas, Bettendorf, Sue (Keith) Bratcher, Moline, Dan (Sandi) Atkins, East Moline and Gail (Anthony) Losasso, East Moline, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at New Perspective and Stephanie from Hospice for the care and compassion.
