Cecily A. Olsen, 87, of East Moline, IL, passed away Friday July 21, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

In accordance with her wishes, no services are planned. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, IL or to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Cecily was born July 17, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Stanley and Emily McCreedy Barta. She married Ronald J. Olsen on March 9, 1957, at South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2009.

In earlier years she had worked at Community Savings & Loan and later for Walter D. Laud, East Moline. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was a talented seamstress and quilt maker.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy (Peter) Franck, Rock Island, IL and Lisa (Eric) Erickson, Andalusia, IL; grandchildren, Tara (Michael) Hogan, Waynesville, NC, Rebecca (Nic) Lake, Davenport, IA, Gregory (Samantha) Sheldon, Orion, IL, Sarah (Justin) Sheldon, Chicago, IL, Brett (Katrina) Erickson, Matherville, IL, Danielle (Cory) Erickson, Cordova, IL, and Katie (Don) Harjes, Hillsdale, IL; thirteen great grandchildren; and special friend, Rita St. Clair.

Cecily was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
