Graveside services for Charles R. "Bob" Murphy, 80, of Moline, IL, will be 11am Saturday at Roselawn Cemetery, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Anyone attending must wear face coverings and respect social distancing. Mr. Murphy died Friday, April 30, 2021, in TN.

Bob was born on 10/11/1940 in Ottumwa, Iowa the son of Mary and Ted Murphy. He graduated from Ottumwa high school. Bob married Sharon Callas in 1961. He was a hard worker and a people person. He enjoyed his many years as a Meat Cutter for several SuperValu chains, Retiring from Walmart in 2020. In his spare time, Bob loved working on several makes and models of cars. Bob kept his yard in pristine shape, pulling out a fishing pole on occasion. Slowing down was never an option, traveling, zip-lining, jet skiing, dancing to his favorite Bands is what he loved to do late into his 70s. Bob really enjoyed being around his neighbors in his home that Sharon and him purchased in 1978.

He formed a Club 101 for drinks and chatting along with occasional Block Party's with The Neighbors. Bob will be missed. Survivors include his wife Sharon; children, Christine Murphy, Douglas Murphy, Amy (David) Lapaczonek: 7 grandchildren; and a sister, Deb Dyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Katherine "Kat" Murphy; siblings, Pat Murphy and Phyllis Acton.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family
