Obituary

Charles A. "Chuck" Bray, 84, of East Moline, IL, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, at his home. Private graveside services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 5th,  at the Palace, 701 15th Ave., East Moline, from 11:30AM to 3:00PM, all are welcome.

Chuck was born December 19, 1937 in Osceola, Missouri, the son of Richard and Arnetta (Johnson) Bray. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Joann R. Tomsheck September 10, 1960. She passed away February 15, 1999. He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1993, where he had been a systems analyst.

Chuck appreciated the simple things. He enjoyed fishing, having a beer with friends and spending time with family.

Survivors include his children, Chuck (Cheryl) Bray, Aurora, IL, and Connie (Tom) Schwarz, Moline, IL; grandchildren, Christopher (Breanna) Schwarz, Jackson (Danica) Bray, Michael Schwarz, Shawna Bray, and Brandon Schwarz (Kayla Melton); great grandchildren, Stanton, Stella, Jaeger, McClane, Ellory, and Theodore; sister, Norma McCoy, FL; sister-in-law, Barbara Bray Springfield, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Donald and Norman Bray, and Lee (Mary) Johnson.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to United High School Bass Fishing Team, attn. Christopher Schwarz, 1905 100th St., Monmouth, IL, 61264.
