Charles H. "Chuck" Daniels, 85, Hampton, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Genesis Illini, Silvis. A public visitation will be held from 11 AM until 1 PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Private family services will follow and will be live-streamed at http://www.facebook.com/vanhoefuneralhome. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Memorials may be made to the family.

Chuck was born on October 21, 1935 in Davenport, IA, the son of Charles I and Norma (Meinert) Daniels. Chuck married Theresa Smolenski on July 2, 1966. She died January 5, 1977. He married Joan (Raymond) Larson on October 7, 1978 in Rock Island. He retired in 1986 as a supervisor from John Deere Foundry after 32 years with the company. After retirement he worked at the former Ron's Town Liquor, East Moline. He was a member of the East End Boulder's Club and the Moline Elks. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Chuck enjoyed going to the drag races, weekend camping trips to Camp Hauberg and his bi-weekly breakfasts with his buddies.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Joan, children, Steve Larson, Moline, Pam Karlix, O'Fallon, IL, Lisa (Mike) Popelier, Omaha, NE and Pat Daniels, Hampton, grandchildren, Erik, Michael and Kim Karlix and Tyler, Bryson Popelier, and Rylee Daniels, great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Cole, siblings, Leoria Denato, Moline, Dorthea Jamieson, Moline, Charlotte (Arnold) Frank, Prophetstown, Betty (Gary) Welch, Geneseo, Shirley Bonnett, Milan and Linda Bacus, Moline and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Delores Henderson, Marilyn Bloomquist, James Daniels, Carl Daniels and John "Jack" Daniels.
