Charles B. Knox III, 77, of Silvis, IL, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024 at his home in Silvis.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.

Charles was born January 21, 1946 in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Charles, Jr. and Betty Jean (Holstrom) Knox. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1964. Charles married Barbara A. Denys on July 15, 1987 in Davenport, Iowa.

He was a proud U.S. Army veteran.  Charles was employed for 27 years with Sivyer Steel, and then 10 years with John Deere. He was a member of the U.A.W. He enjoyed spending time at the cabin his parents built on the Rock River.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara, of Silvis; children, Jennifer L (Mark) Rummell, Aransas Pass, TX, Michael C. Knox, Rock Island, IL, and Candace (Bruce) Woods, Moline, IL; grandchildren, Charles Francisco Rummell, Adrian McDevitt, Robert Hunter Woods, Summer (Zachary) O'Leary, Derek (Jericha) Woods; and lifelong friends Bill and Mary Leisteko.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
