Charles Edward Person, 85, Colona, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Aspen Rehab, Silvis. Funeral services are 10 AM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Friday at the funeral home. Charles was born on June 6, 1931 in Hannibal, MO, the son of Charles H. and Mertie Mae (Curtis) Person. He served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. In early years, he worked for the Hannibal Public Works. He married Carolyn Bridgewater on October 28, 1951. He was a carpet and tile installer for Heritage House, Davenport. He loved fishing for Crappie, enjoyed riding motorcycles and 4 wheelers, attending flea markets, country music and playing his Dobro. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed wood carving and glass etching. Survivors include his wife Carolyn, children, Zane (Yvonne) Person, Geneseo, Daryl Person, Colona, Tamara Person, Colona, Shawn Person, Colona, Barry (Julie) Person, South Berwick, Maine and Kyle Person, Denver, CO; grandchildren, Tyler, Callie, Haley, Baylor and Madison, great grandchildren, Brody and Colton; and a brother Harvey (Lila) Person, Hannibal. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Delbert.
