Charlotte L. Underwood, 74, East Moline, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline. Funeral services are 10 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ, Moline. Charlotte was born July 11, 1938 in Willmar, MN, the daughter of Aaron and Lona (Robinson) Swanson. She married Bobby Underwood on February 5, 1957 in Jackson, TN. They moved to the Quad Cities to find work and raise a family. Family and friends were very important to her. She was also very involved in her grandchildrens lives when they were growing up and was excited to be a great-grandma and spending time with her great grandson. Charlotte enjoyed crocheting blankets for her family and making doll clothing and doing crafts. She also gathered several small collections of things over the years, bells and bears and music boxes. When health allowed she was very active in her church and loved singing at the church. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Bobby, daughters, Malora (Kevin) Redman, Port Byron and Deborah Underwood, East Moline, grandchildren, Lee Aaron Redman, Lisa (Nathan) Kitt, Jessica Underwood and Greg (Nikki) Franks, great grandson Hunter Rex Kitt, sister, Dolores (Bill) Brandon, Jackson, TN, nephew Terry Brandon, numerous other nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Inky. She is preceded in death by her parents and great granddaughter Makenzie Franks.
