Cheryl E. Dzekunskas, 78, of East Moline, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Silvis Center for Nursing Rehab and Care, Silvis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3209 60th Street, Moline. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time at the church. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Cheryl was born on November 18, 1946, in Ontario, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Nellie (Sullivan) Dzekunskas. She retired from Pizza Hut, East Moline, IL, in 2011, after 22 years of service.
Cheryl was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and followed every game. She was also known for remembering her family and friend's birthdays and surprising them with a singing telegram. Cheryl loved her winter vacations with her family in Arizona, attending the Chicago Cubs spring training games. Wednesday nights were special to her, going out to dinner with her cousins, Gary and Patty and Tom and Donna.
Cheryl is survived by her siblings, Bev Demeurisse, Silvis, Mary (Otto) Breitmeyer, East Moline, Rita (Jim) Anderson, Moline, Jim (Pat) Dzedunskas, Andover, Vic Dzekunskas, Colona, and Gary Dzekunskas, Geneseo; brother-in-law, Don Senn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Anita Senn; brother-in-law, Paul Demeurisse; and sister-in-laws, Terry Dzekunskas and Sandy Dzekunskas.
Cheryl's family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at the Silvis Center for their love and wonderful care.
