Cheryl Williams passed away at home surrounded by her family on October 19, 2023. Cheryl Van Opdorp Williams was born September 5th, 1957, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Robert C. Van Opdorp and Mary Ann (Lampo) Meincke. Cheryl married Chad Williams in September 1987 and had two children. She retired from Deere & Co (IT Supply Management) after 38 and a half years of service. Those left to cherish her include her children; Jaime Williams and Keith Williams (Savanna); grandchildren; Jamia Brown and Jaya Wilson; father and stepmother; Robert (Diane) Van Opdorp; siblings; Robert M. VanOpdorp, Jean Hansen, Terry VanOpdorp, Lee (Emily) VanOpdorp, Todd (Karen) VanOpdorp and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather; Jack and Mary Ann Meincke; brother-in-law, Joe Hansen; and sister-in-law, Debi VanOpdorp. Cheryl enjoyed spending her time with friends and family, swimming, reading and playing games. In her earlier years, she played in volleyball and bowling leagues. She was very happy that she retired at an early age to spend time with her granddaughters. Quote: "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams!
