Christy Koontz, 62, Moline, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at her home. Funeral services are 10 AM Thursday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 3-6 PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or ARC of the Quad Cities. Christy was born on August 10, 1953 in Moline, the daughter of Laurence and Norma (Anderson) Koontz. Christy worked at Moments Remembered through the ARC for many years. She loved shopping, going out to eat, and her sewing. Christy was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline. Survivors include her mother Norma, East Moline, brother, Donald Koontz, East Moline sisters, Cathy (Joe) Pastorek, Silvis, and Sharon (Tom) McKean, Moline, and nephews, Michael (Katie) McKean, Eric McKean and Andrew Pastorek. She was preceded in death by her father Laurence and her grandparents. Special thanks to Dr. Okba and staff for the exceptional care shown to Christy through the years.
