Clara L. (Pompa) Knox, 88, of East Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007 surrounded by family and friends at Aspen Rehab and Health Care, Silvis, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 3-7 PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 5:30 PM. Memorials may be made for masses. Clara Pompa was born August 12, 1919 in Dodge City, Kansas, the daughter of Juan and Jesus Maria (Segura) Pompa. She married Jack Knox April 3, 1948 in Aledo, IL. He died October 28, 1982. During WWII she had worked at the Rock Island Arsenal. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved being around her 3 sons, grandchildren, and family. She will be missed by all. Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Penny Knox of East Moline, Dan and Beth Knox of East Moline, Harry Knox of East Moline; grandchildren, Alison, Mariel, Zachary, Samantha, Vannesa, Audry Marie Jesus, Sonny, Alex, Andrew, and Lucas; great grandchildren, Brian, Giovanni, and Abrahm; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Cleo Pompa of East Moline; special friend and caretaker, Pat Mosley of East Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Aurora, Guadalupe, Angela, and Simona, brothers, Tony and Lupe. The family would like to thank everyone at Aspen for their wonderful care of their mother over the last 5 years.
