Funeral services for Clara DeDoncker Plunkett, 100, East Moline, are 10 AM Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a liturgy service will be read at 6:30PM. Clara died Monday, July 25, 2005 at her home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bob DeDoncker Memorial Scholarship at Alleman High School. Clara Dollander was born April 18, 1905 the daughter of Theophil "Henry" and Mary Louise (Wiemer) Dollander. She married Emil DeDoncker, and the two of them owned and operated the former Ideal Milling Co, East Moline for 50 years. Emil died in 1974. She was married to Robert Baecke who died in 1981, and later married to Charles Plunkett who died in 1983. Clara was a life member of St. Anne Church, and the East Moline American Legion Auxilliary, she was a member of the Ladies Auxialliary of the Knights of Columbus Leo Council and the Moline Viking's Club. Clara was known for her excellent pie and bread baking, and that she was a very good seamstress. Mrs. Plunkett dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed going out to eat. Clara was able to maintain her own home until her death. Survivors include grandchildren; Martha "Corky" (Dave) Simcox, East Moline, Barbara Lynn (John) McClure, Snellville, GA, Linda (Dan) Smolenski, Port Byron, Susan DeDoncker Gibson, Silvis and Clara (John) Kangas, Milan, a granddaughter-in-law Sheryl DeDoncker, East Moline, daughter-in-law Celeste Stephenson, Rock Island, twelve great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Clara is preceded in death by sons Kenneth, Robert and Duane, husbands Emil, Robert and Charles, a grandson Robert DeDoncker, a grandson-in-law Blaine Gibson, sisters Louise and Martha and brothers Joe and Charlie.
