He was born on July 14, 1925, the son of Hector and Tillie (Neels) Vyncke. He was married to Terese (Terry) Schleich for 65 years. Clix was active in local politics and a leader in many local organizations. He served as City Clerk of East Moline, Alderman of East Moline, Hampton Township Clerk and had worked at Ametek in East Moline. Clix was a life-long member of St. Anne Parish and was very supportive of his church and the parish school. He lived his entire life in East Moline, attending St. Anne School and United Township High School. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and attended University of Illinois and Illinois Wesleyan University. He was a caddy at Short Hills Country Club in East Moline, beginning at age 11. Caddying is where he earned his nickname "Clix" because the clubs he carried always clicked in the golf bag. Clix's legacy is far-reaching. He led a life of service, and was a role model to many, especially his family. He served as Chairman of the Youth Guidance Council, Scout Master, Commissioner of East Moline Youth Baseball, President of the East Moline-Silvis Kiwanis Club, Chief Ranger of the Catholic Order of Foresters, member of the Short Hills Caddy Scholarship Committee, President of St. Anne Church Council, member of St. Anne School Endowment Committee, and Chairman of the Western Illinois Township Officials. Clix received many honors for his service, including City of East Moline Citizen of the Year, "Mr. Township" award, Distinguished Graduate award from the National Catholic Education Association, and recognition from the Chamber of Commerce for his volunteer service. He was most proud of his family, and the pride was mutual! He was very supportive of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all their activities and always encouraged them to follow their dreams. He was an avid Cardinal baseball fan.
