Funeral services for Clyde Porter Jr., 85, of Moline, IL, will be 1:00PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Porter died Friday, October, 11, 2013 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Clyde was born April 2, 1928 in Fayette Alabama, the son of Clyde and Minnie Lee (Cook) Porter Sr. He married Maxine Guyton in 1957. They divorced. He later married Velvie (Black) Evans January 21, 1966 in Galesburg, IL. She died March 9, 1997. Clyde retired from the former International Harvester, East Moline, in 1988 after 31 years of service. Survivors include his daughters; Lorene Black, AL, Brenda (Dick) Newton, CO, and Kathy (Scott) Corbin, MO; stepdaughters, Bettie (Virgil) Dueysen, East Moline, Tommie (John) Hurd, WI, and Jennette (Dennis) Sullivan, Geneseo, IL; 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Velvie. The family would like to thank the staff of Hope Creek Care Center Wing 4-2 for their excellent care.
