Cody D. Barnes, 24, Colona, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. Funeral services are 10 AM Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 3-7 PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family to be determined at a later date.

Cody was born June 13, 1997 in Silvis, the son of Danny and Shari (Sharon) Cosgrave Barnes. He graduated from UTHS class of 2015. Cody was a Journeyman Pipe Fitter for Local 25, currently working for Ryan & Associates. He was very mechanically inclined, a skilled welder and had an amazing work ethic. He loved going to his river lot, boating, fishing, camping and hunting. He enjoyed going for a ride on his motorcycle and his dogs, Ruger and Sassy. He was a Kansas City Chief's fan. Cody made many great friendships through his life, and was someone people loved being around.

Survivors include his parents, Danny and Shari Barnes, East Moline, siblings, Jacob (Brittanie) Barnes, East Moline and Ashley(Adrian) Moreno, East Moline, nieces and nephew, Elly, Luke and Miyah, grandfather, A.C. Barnes, Silvis, girlfriend, Rachel Smith and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Madeline Cosgrave, June Barnes and uncle John Barnes.
