Funeral services for Cody C. Fitch, 26, Rock Island, are 10 AM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd,. East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery with military honors. Visitation is 4-7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Cody died Monday, February 7, 2011 in Moline. A memorial fund has been established. Cody was born October 7, 1984 in Moline, the son of Ronald and Christine (Creekmore) Fitch. He graduated from UTHS in 2003. He joined the US Air Force, three days after graduation and served in the Iraq war. He was honorably discharged in November of 2010. He married Elisa Wick on May 5, 2006. Cody was an avid sports fan, and his favorite teams were the Cincinnati Reds and the San Francisco 49ers. He learned to shoot pool as a boy and won many tournaments through the years. He also enjoyed playing the game of hockey. Cody loved music and especially liked the bands Korn, Chimaira, Rose Funeral and Hatebreed. He truly enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews; Austin, Taylor, Connor, Drew, Mason, Jeorgia and Cohl. Survivors include his parents Christine Creekmore, Coal Valley, Ronald Fitch, Port Byron, and siblings; Carey (Mark) Kainu, Rock Island, Terry Fitch, Port Byron and Tiffany Thompson, Moline, grandmother Lula Ruark, Moline, and a sister-in-law Arrica Belman, Moline. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Shirley Woodrow, George Creekmore and Howard Ruark.
