Corey Michael Ward died unexpectedly on May 16, 2025 in Burlington, Iowa. He was born May 19th, 1983 at Illini Hospital to Christina Poelvoorde Ward and Jeffrey Ward. He graduated in 2001 from Alleman High School. He attended William Penn College in Oskaloosa where he played soccer and graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Business/Finance. Corey worked for several John Deere dealerships starting in Sigourney, IA where he flourished and fell in love with agriculture and farming. He also loved helping the farmers in the fields, planting and harvesting. Corey owned and operated his own business, Ward AG Financial Consulting. He loved hunting, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors, especially in Melrose, Iowa where his grandfather was born.

Survivors include his mother, Christina Ward, Silvis; father and stepmother, Jeff and Kristin Ward of Palmetto, FL; brothers, Joshua (Rebekah) Ward, Kalona, IA, Caleb (Megan) Ward, Bettendorf IA; brother-in-law, Luke Jackson, East Moline, IL; grandparents, William Ward, East Moline and Joan Poelvoorde, East Moline; step-brother, Josh Wagle; step-sister, Ashton Becker; nephews, Brady and Ethan Jackson and Bennett Ward; niece, Lakyn Ward; special friend, Kelsie Watkinson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kayla Ward Jackson; grandmother, Nancy Ward; and grandfather, Hector Poelvoorde.

There will be a Celebration of Life on May 27th at the East Moline American Legion from 5pm-9pm. Please join the family in celebrating Corey's life.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
