Funeral services for Cynthia D. Reyna, 64, of East Moline, IL, will be 6 PM Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-6 PM.

Cynthia passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 5, 2024.

Cynthia was born August 28, 1959, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Simon and Juanita Ramos Reyna. Cynthia married Jorge Ruiz and retired from Hertz at the Moline airport. She owned The West End Club in Moline.

Cynthia loved being a mother and wela above anything else, her children were her pride and joy. Family meant everything. In her free time, you could find her at the casino, thrifting or ready to cook a delicious meal and brag about her mother's famous beans. She had a sharp tongue, infectious quick-witted sense of humor and loved to reminisce, tell a good story or give advice. She was a smooth dancer and loved all kinds of music and movies. Cynthia could strike up a conversation with anyone and left a lasting impression.

Left to honor and cherish her memory, are her girls, Cristina Ruiz (Patrick Struble), Moline, and Gabriella Hurtado (Alejo Ortega) East Moline, IL; grandchildren, Thalia and Damian Struble-Ruiz, Devin Struble, Giana Hurtado and great-granddaughters; Nevaeh, Nyla, and Nova; siblings, Leticia Reyna, Moline, Dora Reyna, Rock Island, and Sylvia Reyna Moline; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially Emma Ramos. And her dear friends Juana Ramos, Karen Mager Kiesel, Angie Steele and Benilde Perez.

Cynthia was strong in her battles and is finally resting pain free. She is welcomed in death by her parents and son, Jorge Ruiz Jr., ex-husband, Jorge Ruiz and brother, Hector Reyna.
