Funeral services for Cyriel "Zeke" Nagel, 85, of East Moline, IL will be 10:00AM Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 2:00PM. Mr. Nagel died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Forest Hill Health Care Center, East Moline. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Anne Catholic Church. Zeke was born December, 12, 1927 in Moline, IL, the son of Frank and Alice Dinneweth Nagel. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He had worked 29 years at Fairbanks-Morse, East Moline, until it moved to Meridian, MS. He then worked 14 years at East Moline Metal Products, retiring in 1991. He was the former Machinist Union President Local 1191. He was a lifelong member St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, 49 year member of the East Moline Eagles Club, VFW Post 2056, a Diehard Chicago Cubs Fan, and Chicago Bears Fan. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Jan (George) Mac Farlane, Moline; niece, Kathleen Smith, Chicago, IL; nephew, Mark Nagel, East Moline. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rene.
