Cyril E. White, 98, Silvis, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Funeral services are 2 PM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where the Vietnam Veterans Association Post 299 will conduct military honors. Visitation is from 12 PM until service time. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Cy was born on November 15, 1920 in Hiteman, IA, the youngest child of Frank and Myrtle (Zimmerman) White. He grew up during the depression with many fond memories. He married Vyonda Milburn on February 15, 1942 in Kahoka, MO. He was drafted into the United States Army serving the European Theater during WWII. Upon arriving home, he met his daughter "Jake" when she was 2 ½ years of age. Cy retired from John Deere Harvester after 39 years. He enjoyed golfing and played until age 97. He loved the out of doors and taking fishing trips.

Survivors include his children, Janice (Gene) Baker, Moline, and Edward (Connie) White, Thomson, IL, grandchildren; Greg (Karen) Peacock, Colona, Amanda (Fred) Remley, Horicon, WI, Angela (Jeff) Fenner, Davenport and Adam (Paige) White, East Moline, great-grandchildren; Shawn, Christian, Calvin, Jameson, Eva and Alexandra, and great-great grandchildren; Carter and Jensen.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers; Sam, Phil and Frank and sisters, Dorothy and Evelyn.
