Funeral services for Dale Belanger, 78, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, East Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mr. Belanger died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, East Moline. Dale was born January 28, 1931 in Staint Anne, IL, the son of Orell and Hazel (Goyette) Belanger. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, where he had been an Aerial Photographer. He married Shirley Boone March 28, 1959 in East Moline. He retired from the former Desaulnier's, Moline in 1991, after more than 30 years of service. Dale had been an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where he had served as Deacon and an Elder. He had been a cat breeder and had shown cats throughout the United Stated for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Belanger of East Moline; daughter and son-in-law, Candy and Greg Wright of Gurnee, IL; grandchildren, Steven and Caroline Wright.
