Daniel R. "Danny" Huennekens, 65, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, September 17, 2015, at his home. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 pm Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Danny was born September 27, 1949, at Lutheran Hospital, Sioux City, IA, the son of Ralph and Mary Fischer Huennekens. Danny worked at the ARC of the Quad Cities, Opportunity Center for many years. He enjoyed fishing, bike riding, mowing grass, watching the Dukes of Hazard, tinkering with electronics, growing flowers, and participating in the Special Olympics. Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash were his favorite performers. He was always cracking jokes and loved everyone. Survivors include his sister, Susan (Robert) King, East Moline; brother, David (Danita) Huennekens, Fenton, IL; sister-in-law, Cathy Huennekens, TN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Huennekens.
