Dannette Marie Simpson (nee Prieto) 62 of East Moline, went home to the Lord Saturday Feb. 19th at Genesis Hospital, Silvis surrounded by her family.

Funeral services are 10 AM Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 5-7 PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 4PM.

Born January 26th, 1960 in Moline, daughter of John and Dolores Prieto. Dannette retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after 35 years. Dannette was a devout Catholic participating in many functions at Our Lady of Guadalupe, volunteering and providing back up for whatever task was needed.

Dannette belonged to the Neocatechumenal Way for 9 years where she served as a cantor. She was active in any opportunity to evangelize and to spread the word of God.

Dannette excelled in the kitchen, providing huge parts of meals for many family functions. She was known for THE BEST refried beans in the world. Join us in lifting a drink in her memory with a tall Bud Light with TWO limes.

She was a loving mother and enjoyed family time more than anything else. She is survived by her children, Adrienne (James) Richey of Naperville, IL, Seth (Tiffany ) Castel of St.Louis, MO, and Josh Simpson (Samantha Hernandez) stationed in El Paso, TX, Siblings: Anthony Prieto of Rock Island, Rosie (Wayne) Vittori of East Moline, Angie (Joseph) Garcia of Silvis, Bo Chandler of Bettendorf, John Prieto Jr of Bettendorf, Catherine (David) Long of Moline, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dr. Vincente Prieto, sister, Dr. Mary Louise Prieto-Bayard and nephew, Matt Prieto.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for masses said in her name.
