Funeral services for Darlene Marie Hall, 81, of Colona, IL, will be 10:00 AM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hall died Monday, September 26, 2011 at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Darlene was born October 27, 1929 in Mercer, County, IL, the daughter of Delpha Spitznogle. She married Edwin "Ed" Hall August 19, 1947 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island. She had worked for the Moline Dispatch, retiring as a District Supervisor. She had been an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline (30 year member), where she had taught Sunday School. In her later years, she had been a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Colona. She had been the "Picture Lady" at the Colona Schools for many years. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Ed Hall, Colona; daughters, Constance "Connie" (Dale) Arnold, Moline and Terri (George) Bell, St. Paul, MN; sons, Donald (Regina) Hall, Conway, AK and Randy (Barb) Hall, MO; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat McDonald, Milan, IL, Carol Trout, Moline; brother, Richard Trout, RI.
