Darold L. Atkin 65, passed away at home in Silvis IL on Tuesday June 9th. Darold was born to Helen and Glenn Atkin on February 3rd 1961. He attended United Township High School. He got his CDL to be a semi truck driver. Later he worked at McLaughlins as a fork truck driver.

He was a lover of travel and showing his children new and exciting places. Darold loved having a good time, listening to tunes around a fire with his friends. He was an avid dog lover.

He loved his girls and grandkids more than anything. He would light up when he would see them. They loved their Pa fiercely.

Darold is survived by his daughters Jennifer and Julianne Atkin. His grandchildren Aria and Pallen Atkin. His brother Les(Patty) Atkin. And his long time partner Lori Larkins Grant. He was preceded in death by his parents, many brothers and sister.

Darold’s family plans to have a Celebration of Life gathering to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Darold was a donator for many years. This was a cause that was always close to his heart.
