David Blunk, 44, of Columbia, South Carolina, formerly of Silvis, died April 12, 2006 in Columbia, South Carolina. Graveside services will be Noon, Thursday at the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 9:30-11:30 AM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service must be at the funeral home by 11:30AM. Born to Richard E. (deceased) & Joann Blunk on May 16, 1961 in Rockford, IL. He grew up in Silvis, IL and graduated from United Township High School in East Moline, class of 1979. He married Debbie Ehli on July 24, 1982 after which they traveled the world as he completed 20 years of military service in the Navy. Dave and Debbie were blessed with two daughters, Emily born October, 1984 and Laurie April 1987. After retirement from the Navy he has been employed at AMCOR for the past 6 years. An avid golfer, motorcyclist and car enthusiast, he enjoyed many hours on the courses and roads with his friends and family. Survivors include: wife, Debbie of Columbia, SC; daughters: Emily and Laurie at home; mother, Joann Marolf and step-father Ray Marolf of Moline, IL; brothers, Bill (Tina) Blunk, Enid OK, and Larry (Terri) Blunk, Ottawa IL, mother and father in law Joe and Betty (deceased) Ehli Fulton NY, brothers in law; Perry (Sue) Ehli, Delaware, Terry Ehli, Oswego NY; sisters in law, Jodie (Bill) Bobbett, Fulton NY, Mary Ehli, Oswego NY, Cristine (Geoff) Snyder, Oswego, NY; nieces, Brea, Hannah, Brenna, and Paige; nephews, Jason, Christian, Bill, Ethan, and Bryce.
