Funeral services for David A. Claussen, 42, of Bettendorf, IA, will be 10:00 AM Monday at Calvary Church of The Quad Cities, Moline, IL, where he had been a member. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Mr. Claussen died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Swedish Medical Center, Seattle, WA, after having a heart attack. David was born March 20, 1966 in Moline the son of Dick L. and Rita (Nixon) Claussen. He was a graduate of North Scott High School and AIC Business College, Davenport, IA. He married Jennifer Young February 23, 2002. He had worked for Farner Bocken Company, Davenport. He had been an avid Florida State University fan and a huge fan of Spiderman. He loved his church, family and friends. He enjoyed helping people. Survivors include: his wife, Jennifer Claussen of Bettendorf; daughter, Bailey Young at home; Mother, Rita Hanssen of Moline; father, Dick L. Claussen of Lisbon, IA; grandmothers, Dorothy DeMay of Silvis, IL, Eileen Claussen of Davenport, IA; sister and brother-in-law, Wendy and Brad Speer of Moline, IL; nephews, Alan, Kyle, and Josh Speer; special uncle, Tom Nixon of Everett, WA. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers. A Scholarship Fund has been established for his daughter at Service Plus Credit Union, Moline.
