Obituary

After a five year battle with lung cancer, David L. Dwight, 75, of East Moline, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his home, with his wife by his side. Per Dave's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no services. Dave was born in Appleton, WI, on July 16, 1941, the son of Estelle and Nathanial Dwight. His family later moved to Moline, IL. He graduated from Moline High School and started his career with the telephone company. He later joined Sears work force as one of it's top sales representatives. Dave's real passion was for Street Rods. In 1987 he started his own business Restoration Unlimited. He was a perfectionist, a master painter; and, he was well known for his detailed and professional workmanship. Many of his cars were featured on the cover and centerfold of Hot Rod and Street Scene Magazines. He married Judith Stritesky in 1963. He later married Margie Cram Mason on July 9, 1971. He is survived by his wife, Margie, daughter Nanette (Mike Swensen), stepson, Jeff Mason and 2 grandsons. Memorials may be made to the National Cancer Society or the Rock Island County Animal Shelter. A special thank you to Liz and Barb B. from Beacon of Hope Hospice.
