Funeral services for David G. Hanson, 78, East Moline, are 11 AM Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline. Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to his St. John's Lutheran Church Choir or to the American Lung Association. Mr. Hanson died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Genesis West, Davenport, Iowa. Dave was born April 2, 1930 in Moline, the son of John and Edith Forrest Hanson. He married Janaan Schmitt in 1952. David had been president of the Plasterer's Union, Member of the IBEW 145, the American Legion, and the Moline Viking Club. David served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife Jan, children and spouses; Steven and Lisa Hanson, Davenport, IA, Lynn and Douglas Becker, Dubuque, IA Mark and Melinda Hanson, New Richmond, WI and Sara and John Montieth, Greeley, CO, grandchildren; Ashley Hanson, Sara (Aaron) Mishler, Brian Krahn, Craig and Alexis Becker, Sally (Oscar) Theiler, Dwight, Marie, and Calvin Hanson, and Natalie and James Montieth, great grandchildren Jackson and Sophie Mishler and Noah Polzin a sister Betty Fahlen, Boise, ID and brother and sister-in-law Gary and Helen Hanson, Sebring, FL and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronald J. Hanson
